1977 : One Man Band
Greg used his grandpas 20-acre homestead farm in Beaverton, Oregon, as his operation's home base. Within a few years, G. A. Parsons Excavating had grown to be a full service excavating, underground utility, asphalt paving and survey company. Having been a former equipment operator for the "E. LEE ROBINSON" Construction Co. of Tigard, Oregon, the ground rules for success were instilled early on. In fact, some of the first jobs were for Mr. Robinson as a subcontractor excavating for building footings. 1979 : Right Place, Right TimeIn the late seventies a Beaverton electronics company hired Greg to excavate a small ditch line for the on-site plumber because their backhoe guy didn’t show. Seeing Parsons' capability, the general contractors on the project signed up G. A. Parsons. Within eighteen months Greg was excavating for the electronics company's new site pads and footings for six buildings at two different campuses. G.A. Parsons Excavating grew, adding underground pipe work and subdivision construction to its building excavation, and was incorporated as Parsons Excavating in 1979. |
